Another roadblock for the snowmobile industry in Ontario.
The provincial government is planning to charge snowmobile clubs for the use of hydro right-of-ways.
Conservative MPP Jim Wilson says the new regulations could cost clubs thousands of dollars a year.
He says the clubs will also be responsible for the fencing and maintenance of the hydro trails.
All in all, Wilson says it will also affect thousands of restaurants and businesses who are often attended by snowmobilers.
Transportation Minister Glenn Murray says this is the first he’s heard of the new regulations and has promised to get to the bottom of the issue.
