An investigation is underway into an effluent line leak near downtown Fort Frances.
Abitibi officials were notified of the leak around 10:20 this morning, which was flowing into a storm sewer near the old CN station.
Abitibi G-M John Harrison says all three paper machines were immediately shut down and the flow from the leak was stopped within 40 minutes of notification.
Harrison adds repairs to the line are underway and the paper machines will be restarted once completed.
Town officials say the leak poses no threat to the health and safety of area residents.
