Airline Security Tax – Six Weeks Later

Most residents of Sunset Country, who have travelled by air outside the region in the past six weeks, have paid the new airline security tax.
The federal government introduced the new fee on April 1st, in an effort to help pay for increased security in the wake of the events of 9-11.
Joanne Misener, owner of Aries Travel in Dryden, says the new fee has only added to the total cost of a travel product.
Misener adds so far, the fee has not had a huge impact on most clients.
However, she says some leisure travellers may be a bit discouraged with another fee on an airline ticket.
