AlterNative Homes Plans To Build Home Plant In Cit

A new home manufacturing plant will soon call the Norwill Industrial Park in Dryden it’s home.
AlterNative Homes Ltd. plans to start construction this fall or spring of 2015 and once completed, it will bring a 2 million dollar investment to Dryden.
Office Manager for the Dryden Development Corporation, Nicole Gale says the company is in the process with the province right now to secure additional funding.
Gale says the company has forecasted that a staff of 12 is needed for start-up purposes and as production increases a max staff of 40 may be needed.
AlterNative aspires to solve the housing crisis on First Nations’ land and their houses are a third of a weight of conventional housing.
Gale says because the houses can ship flat, it’s a key benefit for transportation costs when shipping them to remote First Nation communities.
The company just competed their first home build in Eagle Lake First Nation.
You can view one of the homes today until August 3rd at 303 Aspen Avenue in Eagle Lake from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m.
