Ambitious Fundraising Campaign Begins Today

A massive fundraising campaign for a new CT Scan Unit begins Monday morning at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.

The goal is to secure $1.25-million over a four year period as the current machine is approaching the end of its functional lifespan.

Hospital Chief Executive Officer Wade Petranik says this is a critical initiative.

Petranik says without the machine, the hospital wouldn’t be able to support their surgical services at all.

Petranik notes the CT unit allows for care at home, and daily interaction between staff, physicians and patients.

Petranik says he understands there are plenty of worthwhile projects to support here at home.

However, he believes health care is an important part of our community and without a strong system then the economy of Dryden would look a lot different.

The campaign will be a launched at 8 o’clock with CKDR broadcasting live from the hospital.

We will be collecting pledges until 12 o’clock.
