Another Round Of Scams In Northwest

There’s increasing reports of various scams hitting the region in recent days.

Police and the CKDR Newsroom have been inundated with several complaints.

One being reported by Treaty Three Police has someone advising folks they’ve won 5.5-million dollars and a car for paying their hydro bill on time, but asks for an undisclosed amount of cash to secure the winnings.

Dryden residents have once again been receiving calls from the Publishing Clearing House stating they have also won a major prize and personal information is needed for delivery.

And, Provincial Police say residents are being contacted by the Canada Revenue Agency by telephone claiming they owe money and requiring payment immediately.

The Canada Revenue Agency does not contact taxpayers in this fashion.
