Anti-Harassment Bill One Step Closer To Reality

The Trudeau government is out of the gate with Bill C-65, a new law which would eliminate harassment and violence in federal workplaces.

During second reading, Labour Minister Patty Hajdu indicated currently there’s a culture where victims don’t feel safe in bringing their concerns forward.

She notes they are taking this action because the government “recognizes safe workplaces, free of harassment and violence are critical to the development of Canadian workers.”

Hajdu says parliament has been one of those institutions where such abuse has been allowed to continue.
