Kenora MP Bob Nault Remains Optimistic On NAFTA Talks

Kenora MP Bob Nault is optimistic following word that enough progress has been made over the past week to move ahead with a fresh round of NAFTA talks in Mexico.

U.S. trade czar Robert Lighthizer updated the media Monday that they are making headway on talks but stressed that all three countries need to pick up the pace.

Nault believes everyone at the table realizes the importance of the trade pact and states he doesn’t think NAFTA is a bad trade deal at all.

He also says cool heads are prevailing and businesses and agricultural sectors are speaking out to Donald Trump about how important this deal is.

Lighthizer, however, is attacking Canada’s proposal on autos, saying it would do the reverse of what was intended.
