Arnold Gardner on KI/Platinex #2

The 28 Treaty 3 First Nation Chiefs will be meeting in

Thunder Bay on Tuesday to discuss the Big Trout Lake

mining dispute.

Grand Chief Arnold Gardner says they’ll be holding a

joint strategic meeting the following day with the

Nishinawbe Aski Nation.

Gardner adds they want to send a strong message of

support to the Provincial Government.

Recently six band leaders from Big Trout Lake were

jailed for protesting a mining site on their traditional

land use area.

Gardner hopes the Provincial Government will be able to

resolve this issue, since they could have prevented it by

properly consulting the first nation.
