Atikokan Coal Plant to be closed!

Atikokan has been dealt yet another economic blow.
Ontario Energy Minister Dwight Duncan announced this morning the coal fired generating plant will be closed sometime in 2007.
Thunder Bay will be converted to a gas fired facility & once transmission line upgrades are made, the Atikokan plant wil go dark.
Duncan says that will happen because any power produced from there is not necessary.
