Atikokan Flooding

Atikokan residents, living in low-lying areas, are being encouraged to protect their property and find higher ground today.
Atikokan Councillor Garry McKinnon says the Atikokan River is at flood stage but officials believe the river has crested.
Some residents have left their homes due to high water levels and in some cases police have had to rescue people in boats.
McKinnon notes the flood situation has not yet reached disaster level but things are being watched closely.
