Atikokan Landmark Destroyed

The former Moose Hall has burned to the ground in Atikokan.
Fire crews were dispatched to the downtown landmark early Monday morning and firefighters remained on scene until late Tuesday.
Mayor Dennis Brown says its a sad day for the community as the Hall was a staple in the community since the early 1970’s.
Brown says the Moose was the site of numerous activities and was a meeting place for Town residents.
He adds that due to difficult economic times, the Moose Hall was closed about 3-years ago.
The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause.
The building was vacant and no one was injured.
