An Atikokan man has started making his way across Canada by canoe.
Mike Ranta, and his dog Spitzii, left Vancouver for Cape Breton Friday morning.
Ranta says this trip is to raise awareness for Canada’s veterans.
He wants to reach Cape Breton in September, and hopes to be paddling in our region in June.
Ranta says he’s been planning the trip for two years.
