Atikokan Set To See Savings In Policing

Atikokan will be paying less for policing in 2015.
The Ontario Provincial Police have agreed to take over more of the financial cost of policing in the community.
Mayor Dennis Brown says it will mean some huge savings.
Brown says they were set to pay $1.5-million next year, and they will now pay $880,000 for the OPP to patrol their streets.
He notes it could go down to as low as $685,000 by 2020.
Brown says the level of policing won’t be impacted.
