Big Win for KI Reserve 2

Concerns over mining activity on the KI reserve, formerly known as
Big Trout Lake have been heard by the Ontario Superior Court.
A judge has ruled Platinex will not be able to continue exploration
activity on their traditional land.
Sierra Legal Defence Fund Lawyer Justin Duncan has been involved in
the case and says the dispute is far from over.

Platinex has filed a $10-billion lawsuit as well, which Duncan
believes will be thrown out with the ruling that the company failed to
consider first nation rights when setting up a mining camp on the reserve.
