Big Win for KI Reserve

The KI First Nation formerly known as Big Trout Lake has won a
landmark victory over the Platinex mining company.
An Ontario Superior Court judge has ordered the company will not be
able to continue exploration activity on their traditional land.
Sierra Legal Defence Fund Lawyer Justin Duncan has been involved in the
dispute and says the judge has maintained control over the case.

The judge ruled Platinex didn’t properly consult with the First
Nation community when setting up a mining camp on the KI reserve.
