The executive director of the Ontario Sunset Country Travel Association says its been a disappointing summer in terms of visitor numbers.
Last month, the number of american visitors crossing the border at Fort Frances was down by about 11 percent compared to July of last year.

Cariou says high gas prices, difficulties entering Canada from the U.S., the rising Canadian dollar and a lack of tourist marketing by the federal government have all had an impact on the decreasing number of american visitors.
