Broadband Expansion in Northwestern Ontario

The Government of Canada is supporting information and communication technology in Northwestern Ontario.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford was in Sioux Lookout Friday to announce $929,0000 for the KO-Northern Chiefs Council.
The money will be used to upgrade its satellite-based broadband infrastructure system that serves 14-First Nation communities in the North.
The initiative will improve videoconferencing, tele-medicine and distance education capabilities.
