Bruce Hyer Focusing On Two Issues Close To His Heart

Thunder Bay-Superior North MP Bruce Hyer is taking aim at the Federal Government on a couple of conservation issues.

He’s accusing the Conservatives of having one of the worst climate change records of any of the G7 countries.

Hyer’s accusation comes as world leaders meet to discuss the environment in Berlin.

He is demanding the Prime Minister come up with a plan to meet what he calls at least “feeble targets” and control all green house emissions.

The PM’s parliamentary secretary responded they will submit Canada’s green house gas emissions this month and notes the Green Party’s plans would kill jobs.

The Green Deputy leader is also wondering where the money is?

Hyer claims the Federal government promised $20-million back in 2009 to help support a National Marine Conservation Centre in Nipigon.

Hyer says the community has made significant investments in waterfront development.

The Prime Ministers Office avoided answering the question saying they have created a number of environmentally protected areas.
