Canada 150 celebrations kick off Thursday in Sioux Lookout with a parade.
It starts at 6pm at Queen Elizabeth High School and will be follow the traditional Santa Claus parade route.
Spokesperson Tiana Korobanik says after the parade a barbecue hosted by the Shriners Club will be held at the parking lot of Fresh Market Foods.
Municipal Council has also sponsored a Canada 150 birthday cake.
Korobanik says the activities are being organized by the Chamber of Commerce, the Museum and the Recreation and Culture department.
