A Thunder Bay researcher is using almost $200,000 to look into new ways of detecting colon cancer.
The money is coming from the Canadian Cancer Society and CEO Martin Kabat says they were happy to help.
Kabat says the funding comes from their “Innovation” grant and is used to build on new ideas and bring change to cancer treatment.
He notes colon cancer is hard to treat but stresses if detected early they can actually do something about it.
The funding is the single largest research grant awarded by the Canadian Cancer Society in the Northwest Region.
