Cancer Society Pays Sioux Lookout A Visit

The Canadian Cancer Society is touting the work it’s doing in Northwestern Ontario.
Staff were in Sioux Lookout on the weekend to meet with local volunteers and to highlight some of their accomplishments.
Volunteer Engagement Coordinator Laara Losier says it’s important to meet with their volunteers and witness first hand the difference they are making.
Senior Manager of Research Luba Slatkovska gave a presentation on what is being done on the cancer fighting front.
She says a good chunk of the funds goes to research and testing
She also stressed the importance of screening.
Slatkovska says about 50% of cancers can be prevented by living a healthy lifestyle.
