Feds Unveil Loan Forgiveness Program

A big boost for hospitals and health care clinics in Northwestern Ontario.
The Government of Canada has announced a new student loan forgiveness program for family doctors and nurses.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford says eligible nurses and doctors will have a portion of their student loans forgiven if they work in rural communities.
The program takes effect next Spring.
Rickford notes the move will encourage more health care professionals to work in the communities that need them most.
