The Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement is endorsing the recently signed Kenora Declaration on Forest Innovation.
The declaration was signed Thursday.
Aran O’Carroll is Executive Director of the forestry group and says the document really continues some of the work his organization has been doing.
O’Carroll says innovation for the sector is the path forward for sustainability for both the economic aspects of the industry and the environmental aspects.
He adds the declaration lands in the middle ground between conservation and commercialization.
O’Carroll says the declaration will create high added value jobs while reducing the industries environmental footprint.
