Census-Kenora District

Only four communities in the Kenora District experienced population growth during the past five years.

Statistics Canada has released results from its 2006 census
and only Red Lake, Ear Falls, Sioux Narrows/Nestor Falls and Pickle Lake actually grew in size.

Red Lake grew by 6.9 percent to 4,526 people, while Pickle
Lake saw a 20 percent jump in population to 479.

The population of Dryden remained static at 8,195, a loss of just three people from the last census.

The City of Kenora dropped 4.2 percent to 15,177 people in 2006.
