Dryden Council has agreed to re-zone a 10-acre property between Airport
Road and Barclay Hall Road to allow for a chipping and wood handling site.
After weeks of debate, the re-zoning was passed by a 5-1 margain Tuesday night.
Councilor Brian Collins voted against the bylaw.
N031 runs: 14 sec. out…of operation.
Collins doesn’t want the site open from 8pm until midnight.
Gwen Keefe supported the re-zoning.
N032 runs: 8 sec. out…development opportunities.
A large group of concerned citizens and supporters packed City Hall
to hear the decision.
Some are worried about noise, environmental hazards and safety at the
entranceways.
Others stressed the importance of Dryden staying open for business and
welcoming new opportunities.
