The Mayor of Dryden says any upcoming cuts in services won’t jeopardize the safety of local residents.
Mayor Craig Nuttall is responding to a statement from the Dryden Firefighters Association about possible cuts.
Nuttall says any plan will always keep the community’s safety foremost.
He notes they haven’t made any cuts to the Fire Service or even mention possible reductions.
Nuttall adds they showed their commitment to the Fire Service by keeping the Barclay Fire Hall open.
He says he was disappointed with the statement.
Nuttall says the KPMG study has come up with some “suggestions” and they will look at ideas to make sure the proper service is running in the community.
Chief Administrative Officer Andre Larabie says they are looking at all of the mandated obligations they have under the Fire Marshal’s Office.
