Close Call For First Street Resident

An alert neighbour helped prevent major damage and injuries following an incident at a town house Monday night.

The Dryden Fire Service was dispatched to the First Street residence around 9:00.

Fire crews found smoke billowing from a second floor window and immediately responded.

The cause of the smoke was from a pot that was left alone on the stove and the unit was ventilated and cleared.

One person was inside at the time of the incident but they were removed by someone who heard the sound of the smoke alarm.

The unit sustained light smoke damage.
