The Bank of Canada will be issuing a bank note to commemorate Canada’s 150th anniversary.
Finance Minister Joe Oliver says the new money will begin circulating by July the first of 2017. There’s no design for the new bill and that means there’ll be public consultations over the coming months so you can have your say on what it will look like.
The government says the process is in the early stages and more information will be announced later, like when the new money will be released and how many bills will be put into circulation.
