Common Voice Calls For Changes to EI Benefits

Common Voice Northwest is calling on the Federal Government to make significant changes to the Employment Insurance program.
The regional research and policy group says major reform is needed to assist forestry and mining workers across the North.

Macey says the maximum EI benefit period of 45-weeks currently allowed needs to be extended to ensure laid-off workers stay in this area.
