Community Clean-Up Planned At Lions Park

“At Work For The Planet”.

That’s the theme of a community clean-up initiative being held at Lions Park in Dryden on Saturday from 9:00am-12:00pm.

Domtar is organizing the event and Bonnie Skene and Donna-Rae Carter were guests on the CKDR Morning Show Monday to talk about the event.

Members of the public are being invited to join mill staff to clean-up the park and you can now sign-up at the mill gates.

Volunteers will be picking up garbage and clearing low-hanging branches and removing brush.

Skene says they have about 30-people signed up right now, but are looking for more bodies.

Skene says the initiative is part of their campaign to promote sustainability in the community.

She notes they selected Lions Park because the City has identified it as a key priority and something that’s important for Dryden.

Food and drinks will be provided.
