Forest Fire Hazard Climbing

The forest fire hazard has jumped to high across northwestern Ontario, with several pockets of extreme conditions.

There were four new fires reported over the weekend.

Two small fires are currently not under control on an island north of Wunnumin Lake and six kilometres east of Irene Lake in the Fort Frances district.

Two other fires are burning near Pikangikum First Nation.

Both aren’t threatening the community.
