Members of the Royal Canadian Legion in Dryden took time to remember our veterans on the weekend.
A Flag Day ceremony was held Saturday, where Canadian Flags were placed on the graves of those who fought for our country.
Branch #63 representative and Afghan veteran Richard Leray says they have to take time to honour our fallen veterans, stressing they are the ones who made the ultimate sacrifice for us to enjoy what we have today.
Leray says his great uncle and his grandfather both fought in World War II and Flag Day gives him a chance to remember and honour their sacrifices.
It also hits him personally, noting he has five overseas tours, with deployments in Afghanistan in 2006 and 2007.
Leray says he has been through a lot and has seen a lot, including soldiers who had to be sent back home after getting wounded in combat.
