Company Told to Clean Up

The owners of a former aquaculture facility in Atikokan have been fined $7,000 for failing to clean up their work site.
Court heard that the land use permit issued to Fish du Nord expired in March 2009 and was not renewed.
Despite deadline extensions and regular communication between the company and Province, officials didn’t remove equipment or buildings from the site.
The company now has until August 30th to clean up the site.
