Confederation College is doing its part to help ease the
skilled trades shortage in Northwestern Ontario.
Cambrian, Northern and the Thunder Bay based college are
teaming up to create the Federated School of Mining.
Confederation College President Pat Lang says with the
recent mining activity in the region, there is a large
need for skilled employees.

The one year mining techniques certificate program will
be offered out of Thunder Bay, and students can either
enter the workforce upon completion or continue on to
Cambrian or Northern college.
