NW LHIN Funding Allocation

Several hospitals in the region will benefit from an

increase in funding for the Northwest Local Health

Integration Network.

The Ministry of Health boosted the LHIN’s 2008-2009

funding by 4.8 percent or 17 million dollars.

The Lake of the Woods Hospital, Dryden Regional, and

Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre will be

sharing almost 8 million dollars for offering cancer,

cardiac, cataract and MRI’s services.

Atikokan will see 26 thousand dollars for emergency

services, Dryden will see 63 thousand, Red Lake’s share is

almost 24 thousand and Sioux Lookout will receive 70-

thousand.

Base funding for all 13 Northwestern Ontario Hospitals

will increase 2.4 percent.
