Confederation College is responding to a local and regional shortage of Early Childhood Educators and Educational Support Workers.
The school is expanding its programming and is holding information sessions Tuesday at 5:00pm at its campuses in Dryden and Sioux Lookout.
Campus Director Angelina Anderson says a few employers will be on-hand, including the Kenora District Services Board and the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.
Workers in the field will be on hand to give first-hand testimonials about the benefits and opportunities available in child care and education.
Anderson says the session is for anyone interested in children.
She notes Confederation is offering an additional intake of the ECE program for this Fall, and another offering of the ESW program for this Fall and Winter.
Anderson stresses the job market is huge and the need for employees in both of these positions is growing.
She says the demand is there and that’s why they are trying to help employers.
Another information session is being held at the Red Lake Campus on Wednesday at 5:00pm.
