David John Timson

It is with the saddest of hearts that we, the family announce the passing of David John Timson age 50 of Dryden, who passed away on Saturday August 31, 2002 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Dave was born in Toronto, and moved to Kingston, ON in 1966. He attended Queen Elizabeth Collegiate and graduated in 1973. Dave began working for the Dept. of Highway in 1969, transferring to highway carrier enforcement in Cornwall, ON in 1971. He spent his off hours working part-time tending bar where he loved the contact with a wide range of people, his co-workers becoming his second family. In the spring of 1984 he was offered a 3-month position in the Dryden area. He spent those months taking advantage of all the outdoor recreation the area had to offer and knew he had found his home. Upon returning to Cornwall he put in for a permanent transfer to Dryden arriving in 1984. In 1987 he and Sharon were married. Dave was a kind and caring father to his children as well as taking all responsibility for 2 young stepdaughters and their daughter Gini. He merged 3 families to become one happy caring family unit.
His greatest joy was the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, snowmaching and motorcycling or just puttering around his garage. In the past few years he had started to build up aquariums and he could relax and lose himself just staring into the tanks at the fish. He retired in 2002 from the Ministry of Transportation after 30 years of service.
Dave Timson is survived by his loving wife Sharon, daughters Gini at home, Tracy De Stefano of Dover Plains, New York; Tia Hatch of Winnipeg, Amy Biebrich of Winnipeg, son Corey of Waterdown, ON, one granddaughter Anna Biebrich, father Lloyd Timson of Kingston, ON, sister Jane Pitt of Toronto, ON.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, September 6, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Cleghorn officiating. Interment of ashes at a later date.

If friends wish, a donation may be made in Dave’s memory to the Northern Cancer Research Fund or the Childhood Asthma Foundation through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
