Natural Resources Minister David Ramsay is firing back after
Wednesday’s media reports had him as saying the forest industry must embrace the idea of a paperless society and find other ways to make money.
Ramsay says his comments were misinterpreted by the media noting he said the industry was in a transition phase but the demand for Northern fibre will be growing.
The Minister says the Government is here to help and notes over $1-billion worth of programs are on the table.
Ramsay stresses paper products will continue to be an important part of the Northern Ontario economy.
