The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is urging the federal government to move ahead with the Energy East Pipeline.
President Perrin Beatty says thousands of jobs are at risk if the project doesn’t proceed.
Beatty is trying to build public support across the board so people understand what the stakes are.
He says business people in Europe tell him that they want to do business with Canada, however the reality is that we can’t deliver right now, forcing countries to sign other long-term contracts with suppliers from other nations.
Beatty says Canada can be far more competitive as a nation if we can look at ways to streamline the regulatory process.
