Students at Dryden High School are stepping up to the plate to raise money for cancer research.
The school is hosting its 11th Annual Terry Fox Run, something that comes as welcome news with the absence of a community run event this year.
Celena Brosseau, Megan MacKinnon and Carol Gardam were guests on the CKDR Morning Show Wednesday to announce the date for the run.
It will be held on October 6th starting at DHS at 10:45.
The event is open to the public and pledge sheets are available at the High School office.
Brosseau stresses it’s important to support the Marathon of Hope as everyone in some way is impacted by cancer.
They are hoping to raise $3,000 this year.
DHS is also taking part in a number of fun events to raise funds and awareness for the Terry Fox Foundation.
Students will duct tape Principal Deanna Pachecco and Vice Brad Bartlett to the wall Wednesday, and teachers will be bombarded by water balloons next Monday.
A fundraising barbeque was also held last week at the Eagles Football game.
