Dryden City Council has thrown its full support behind a new sport
that is quickly gaining interest.
A temporary Disc Golf Course has been set up at the Sandy Beach Park
and organizer Scott Jones is hoping to develop a full time course.
Jones says he’s hoping to partner with the City to obtain grants for
some key purchases, including permanent baskets.
He is also looking at the possibility of leasing the land as well as expanding and
upgrading the current course.
Jones says his other goal is to erect signs advertising the club and directional signs around Dryden.
The game is similar to actual golf, except players make their way
around the course with a frisbee, with a basket acting as the hole.
Anyone interested in the game can try it out at the Sandy Beach Park
every Saturday at 2 o’clock.
Council has agreed to work with Jones to develop the course.
