Dryden’s Gerry Powell is once again trying to help young school kids stay warm this winter.
She is back with her ‘Winter Warmth’ initiative.
Powell launched the program last year after learning a similar campaign was no longer being offered by the Canadian Red Cross.
Powell was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show Thursday and she says she is now looking for new mittens and toques.
She says the items can be purchased or even handmade.
Powell is hoping to collect a minimum of 150 items and you can drop them off at CKDR, Sew Many Things and the Library.
She says people were so generous last year and all of the kids who received the mitts and toques were so appreciative.
