Donor Numbers Down Nationally

The Regional Canadian Blood Services office says it’s concerned with a
new poll that shows that less than 4% eligible Canadians donate
blood.
The survey also found that over half of Canadians say they or their
family have needed blood.
CBS Spokesperson Michael Hyduk says the results are alarming but
notes its a different story at home.
Hyduk says local donor numbers don’t reflect the survey results.
He says they are becoming more aggressive in their public awareness
campaign’s in a bid to turn around the numbers.
