Winter activities such as ice fishing can be fun, just don’t make alcohol a part of it.
That’s the message from the Northwest Division of the Ontario Provincial Police, especially with the number of people hitting the ice, or going snowmobiling.
Acting Sergeant Anne McCoy says stay sober when you are out and about.
McCoy says that drinking alcohol in cold temperatures can bring on hypothermia even quicker.
She adds that it’s important to always let someone know where you are going.
