Drugs Seized Before Reaching Eagle Lake Pow Wow

A 34-year-old Dryden man and a 31-year-old Eagle Lake First Nation woman are in custody following a drug bust in Kenora early Saturday morning.

Treaty Three Police stopped a vehicle and located a large amount of various drugs.

Officers seized marihuana, Oxycodone, 200-grams of cocaine as well as Canadian and U.S. currency.

The estimated street value of the drugs is around $21,000.

Police say the drugs were being transported from Manitoba to the Eagle Lake First Nation.

The community was hosting its annual Pow Wow that weekend and the event is substance free.

The two individuals face a total of five charges each.

No names have been released.
