Dryden Boys Remain Perfect; Girls Can’t Come Back

It was a fine effort for the Dryden Eagle Boys on the Volleyball Court yesterday at DHS.

The Junior Boys leveled the Fort Frances Muskies in straight sets; 25-19, 25-4 and 25-12.

Alex Lugli says despite the win, there’s still work to be done.

Lugli says they have to capitalize on their free balls and develop their middle hits.

The Seniors won in 4 sets; 25-22, 18-25, 25-23, 25-13.

Brendan Szabo was happy with the effort.

Szabo says they are coming together on defense but notes they have to close out their blocks.

The Dryden Girls weren’t as fortunate against the Muskies.

The Juniors couldn’t slow down Fort Frances in the final quarter en route to a 43-35 loss.

Martina Wintle says they played hard but stresses they have to finish their chances.

The Senior Girls couldn’t finish a late comeback, losing 29-28 at the final buzzer.

Ashley Kropelin scored 3 and says they fell just short in the see-saw battle.

Kropelin notes it was a fun game to be involved in.

Morgan Church drained seven, three pointers to lead the Eagles with 21-points.
