The District Chamber of Commerce held its 20th Annual Business Excellence Awards on the weekend.
Janessa Rogoza is the owner of Blackwood Barbershop, and she was excited to win the New Business Excellence Award.
Rogoza says she’s managed to overcome so many struggles, especially with mental health, and she never thought she would be where she is now.
She stresses her business has been a success, crediting the “amazing town that she lives in”.
Rogoza admits she was nervous opening up the barbershop, but stresses it has taken off.
Michelle Price of Michelle’s Top Drawer won the Chamber Woman in Business Award.
Price calls the honour a total surprise, noting she is honoured to be recognized by the local business community.
