Three different developers have expressed a serious interest in setting up solar power farms in the City of Dryden.
Two of the projects have received approval from the Ontario Power Authority and one developer has already made a firm offer to lease City property.
Economic Development Officer Vicki Kurz says the farms would generate 30-megawatts of power as well as jobs in construction, operation and maintenance.
If all three were to proceed, it could result in a 150 to 170-million dollar investment for the City of Dryden.
A total of 250-acres of land has been identified for the projects, which will require some cooperation with Private owners.
