Protesters Demand Change to Mining Act

Aboriginal protesters say the property rights of all Ontario residents are being threatened by outdated mining laws.
The protesters, including several from Northwestern Ontario, are staging a sit-in on the lawn of the
legislature to make their point.
Darryl Sainnawap, one of six K-I First Nation members who were jailed over a dispute with a mining
exploration company is at the protest.
He says if politicians don’t change the act they can expect another Ipperwash.
